Alex Santoriello, originated roles in three Broadway musicals, Les Miserables, Chess & Three Penny Opera and starred in other major productions including Jesus Christ Superstar and Cats. Film and TV credits include the Academy Award nominated, “Far From Heaven” and the soap opera “All My Children”.
Alex semi-retired from acting ten years ago to begin a concert career, which in turn brought him to Barbados. After three years of performing at the Sandy Lane Gold Cup Festival Alex made his move to Barbados. Four years later, Lexy Piano Bar was born.
Each year Alex performs at dozens of local and international charitable events. In 2007, he was privileged to perform at the reopening ceremony of the Kensington Oval. He served as director of the Barbados National Boys Choir from 2005-2007 and is currently involved with the creation of a national vocal initiative to promote vocal music & training for young singers.
After winning the coveted NATS singing award in 1978 his opera career was short-lived starting and ending with the Bergen Opera in Norway. From 1997 to 2000 he operated the only parasailing company in NYC history.
In 1994, Alex produced and presented the world premiere of A Tale of Two Cities, in concert. In September 2008 "Tale" opened on Broadway. Jill Santoriello, Alex's sister, who spent a lifetime adapting Dickens' "Tale" into a musical wrote the music, lyrics and book for this Broadway production.
